Hi there, I'm a 30 something gay male with a long term partner who rocks my world. After graduating from a fashion college with a degree in fashion communication (PR, styling and marketing) I worked like a dog for two years in low paid PR jobs. Fashion is cool but doesn't pay that much and your expected to be two faced all the time. I'm no good at kissing ass, metaphorically. After fashion PR lost it's sparkle I became a civil servant. I've been a civil servant for over six years now and currently work central government. I've been out since the age of 17 and I've been round the block a couple of times, if you know what I mean. Now I am in my mid thirties and in a long term relationship I am finally beginning to appreciate life and this blog is how I interpret it. Nickx PS. Poobaba is the affectionate name my partner calls me by and it has no other deeper meaning than that.

    Britney's Blackout....Reviewed by Poobaba

Last week a showbiz columnist for The Sun, mentioned that he heard Britney's new album, 'Blackout' and it was surprisingly good. In fact i think he used the words 'Hot'.

Being gay I love Britney and her early bubble gum sweet pop records, then her sexy siren dance songs like 'Slave for You', but when she married KFed and had not one but two of his babies in two years, her red neck roots started to show.

But there is nothing us gays like more than a bit of drama, a dabble with drink and drugs, followed by a breakdown, then rehab and finally a come back. My friend Aaron, who works in music gave me a preview copy of Britney's new album 'Blackout' earlier this week and despite how much I want her to succeed with this album, she doesn't. Unfortunately my review of it goes no further than stripper music. Out of the 12 tracks 10 are heavily sprinkled in very cheesey sexual innuendos and annoying base to hid a weak vocal.

These songs have the original titles like Gimme More, Piece of Me, Get Naked, Freakshow, Hot As Ice, Ooh Ooh Baby (Fillin' Me Up). There was one track that sounded like a bubble gum pop hit of the past and that was the love song 'Heaven and Earth'.

But this will do very little to save her career. In fact the record company are so worried they have brought the release date forward to Halloween as her original release date put her up against Celine Dion's comeback album. I think this YouTube clip by very funny drag queen Jackie Beat sums up Britney's current and future career.  For more of my rants, raves and reviews go to: http://poobaba-backfromthebrink.blogspot.com/
