Gazelland Skin Party - Artist Biographies
Gazelle www.myspace.com/madamgazelle
Gazelle has become a staple in the freak scene of New York. He published his own magazine entitled GAZELLAND that is currently in release of its fifth issue. The magazine is solely dedicated to the children of the night & the fabulous freaks of New York, London and Sao Paulo.
Gazelle is the poster child for the new freaks making everything easy and effortless creating style out of anything.
Holestar www.myspace.com/holestar
Questioning the use of the body, perceived notions of femininity and fun, the ‘Tranny with a Fanny’ is a live performer, visual artist and DJ and has appeared in these guises all over Europe, New York and the UK. Performing at events from Vienna’s Life Ball, Kashpoint to Glastonbury Festival,
Holestar intends to blur the boundaries between the avant-garde and mass entertainment, pop culture and the underground.
Namalee www.myspace.com/namalee
Namalee `n` the Namazonz is a cross between Cyndi Lauper, Siousie Sioux and Neneh Cherry with stomping beats from super hot London producer Niyi. This influential lady has a lot to answer for as some would say her cult magazine Super Super is responsible for the day glo nu-rave revolution.
Mika Doll www.myspace.com/mikadollmusic
London`s freshest musical offering comes in the form of Mika Doll, an androgynous creature born from the same scene that created `The Horrors` and `These New Puritans` in Essex. His music has been pinned as `Electro Horror`, which aptly describes the first release `Light Hearted Lie`, a song that has gained 25,000 myspace plays in four weeks alone. Besides music Mika Doll swiftly became part of London`s club culture with his penchant for high finished styling getting him noticed and gaining him hosting work in the freakier clubs such as Kashpoint and Circus.
Suppositori Spelling www.myspace.com/jarradthespaz
Suppositori Spelling fits snugly into that niche known as unclassifiable. To categorise her style is like pinpointing details of tomorrow night`s dream. Wherever he lays her heels is home. For the last year it has been London, she has also nested in South Florida and LA, but was hatched in San Francisco.
Stefan www.myspace.com/aeryn83
Since moving to London from Scotland, Stefán has become notorious on the underground club scene for his avant-garde looks blending high-finish genderfucker fun with a hostile combatitive element.
He also works as a fashion editor and designer, and has modelled for magazines such as Paper and Vogue.
He was London Editor/Art Director for the SKIN issue of Gazelland.
D*A*V*I*D www.myspace.com/davidandthesevenarmedstarfishaddiction
D*A*V*I*D is an artist, performer and party promoter. His work is a fusion of beauty, horror, fantasy and absurdity. He can usually be found at some of the alternative nights around town, including Studio Neon, where he is co-promoter.
Chycca www.myspace.com/chyccachycca
Chycca is a performing artist based in London. Not just fetish but also performing
with sinking to original human erotic sensuality. She works in a cabaret form
but not an obvious sexual show.
Matthew Glamorre and Richard Torry www.myspace.com/mintymusic
After a quarter of a century of producing the edgiest music & nightclubbery in London -from Minty to Kashpoint and beyond - these two Dinosaurs of Disco Nobility sure know how to raise the roof, the game & any hairpiece in the area.
LIVE - World premiere of Bishi`s new single ` Never Seen Your Face` produced by Glamorre himself. www.myspace.com/bishimusic
Malcolm Pate www.myspace.com/malcolmpate
21-year-old Canadian born filmmaker, photographer, and multidisciplinary
fine artist, Malcolm’s list of interests certainly will never be dull. He
creates feverish dreamscapes, baroque and extreme, sometimes even
frightening to some. His work is seen not only at art galleries and shows, but also
at nightclubs such as Kashpoint, Circus, Foreign and Torture Garden...
Elliot Fu www.myspace.com/drfu
London based emerging filmmaker blurring the line between art and commercial film. He adopts an ambitious and eccentric aesthetic style, often evoking a lucid dreamlike quality. Previously his work has been screened in Paris and the NFT, his latest short film received wide critical acclaim and has inspired interest from various production houses.
